Join us on a full-day tour from Mazatlán to the beautiful city of Durango. Along the way, see the world-famous Baluarte Bridge, cross the Sinaloense Tunnel, and admire the stunning Sierra Madre scenery. The highway consists of 115 bridges and 61 tunnels, including 9 "smart tunnels", with the highlight being 3,600 foot long Baluarte Bridge, a marvel of engineering and the world's highest suspension bridge at over 1,300 feet above the Baluarte River, the natural border between the states of Sinaloa and Durango. All around you are the spectacular landscapes of the Sierra Madre Occidental, complete with its stunning volcanoes, cliffs and rivers. Founded in 1563 by Spanish conquistador Francisco de Ibarra, the historic capital of Durango features nearly 1000 historical buildings in the city center alone. Here we will take a guided tour of Plaza Las Armas and the historical center and discover a stunning array of colonial and post-colonial buildings, churches, local shops, the famous Pancho Villa Museum and the city scene of modern Durango.
