Mazatlan is a true birding
paradise, home to over 400 species of birds, including 35
species endemic to Mexico, and 17 species endemic to Mexico and
Central America. The staggering array of birds and nature
is what drew famed Ornithologist Andrew Jackson Grayson here in
1850, to illustrate the birds of the Pacific Slope of Mexico.
Nicknamed "Audubon of the West", he lived here until his death
in 1869. Today, we offer Mazatlan's expert birding guides, who
have written books on birdwatching and identification in Mexico,
to introduce you to this natural haven. Get your book ready!
